Have you ever been in a situation where there seemed to be no hope? Now, I’m not necessarily talking about some dramatic, life-altering situation. It could be small. No doubt, we’ve all used or heard the term before, “There’s no hope” or “He doesn’t stand a chance” or “That’s a lost cause.”

So, I get married in 310 days. By Thanksgiving, there will be less than 290 days until Kristin and I tie the knot. It’s just so crazy to think about. I can still remember being a kid, where the way I flirted with girls was by picking on/making fun of them. Yes, I was extremely mature. Ha, right. Matthew 20:26 specifically states that if anyone desires to become great, they should begin by being a servant first. While this is often hard to keep in mind, it is the root of all great biblical leaders. Joseph had to start out at Potipher’s house, David had to start out taking care of sheep, etc.
Matthew 20:16 makes it even more clear with Jesus’ parable that the “last shall be first, and the first shall be last.” Read more →
